Themed photo party

I was speaking to a fellow photographer this morning and we were discussing several things we have done to offer our clients more value through our product and service offerings. Upon looking over each other's portfolios she noticed how serious and professional my work was. I laughed and said that was my goal to be a serious photographer and shoot high fashion oriented work. Her point was that even though she knew I was having a blast, it seemed too structured like I wasn't having fun despite my evident elation on every shoot. She felt like it didn't manifest itself in the work; "too dark, too serious, and too manicured" so to speak.

It's amazing what another professional sees in your work. So I decided to take my photographic services to another level and offer small themed photo parties. We all love a party anyway right? So if someone wants to bring two or three friends and they agree to dress as their favorite superhero vixen, in formal ballroom gowns, steampunk attire (my personal fav) or whatever they want to I'm all for it. It already seems like fun and it makes for a perfect gift for a friend or love one.

As photographers, we generally try to work within themes to establish a mood or style that personifies our vision. Working almost exclusively for commercial clients for a few years can sometimes dull our spontaneity and creativity.

So bring your music playlist and your ideas and lets throw a party.
